International Politics

The Department of International Politics was established in July 2005. During the past decades, along with globalization and the rise of China, thefaculty members have constantly explored the strategies and paths of China's foreign relations based on the substantive issues of China and the global political economy, to better serve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the construction of a community of common destiny for all mankind.

The Department of International Politics currently has3 associate professors and 5 lecturers. Faculty members have presided over more than 10projects supported byNational Social Science Foundation and the Humanities and Social Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education and etc., and have published more than 30 monographs and translated works. They have also published more than 200 papers in academic journals such as World Economics and Politics, China Journal of European Studies and American Studies Quarterly. The series of books, such asGlobal Political Economy Series andChina and Global Political Economy Series, have attracted wide attention in academic circles.

The Department of International Politics adheres to the principle of "cultivatingtalents withlocalized global consciousness, excellent international leadership, the theoretical perspectives and analytical tools of international relations and international political economy, professional skills of international political economy,who areinnovative, research-oriented and interdisciplinary, and are capable of reading and writing in both Chinese and English, cross-cultural communication, humanistic quality, social care, exploration spirit and practical ability". It focuses on political economy analysis of finance, trade, investment, development, security and strategy, actively carries out general education courses on classic reading such asComparison of Chinese and Western PhilosophyandIntroduction to Political Economy, as well as reading clubs such asClassic Thought and Governance, and implements a talent training model that organically combines general education and professional education.

The Department of International Politics has formed distinct disciplinary characteristics in the fields of international relations theory and method, international finance and global development political economy, contemporary security studies, economic diplomacy, global economic governance and so on. Graduates are widely distributed in the Party and government organizations, Government-affiliated institutions, banks and other industries. More and more graduates go to thewell-knownuniversities and institutions for further study, such asUniversity of California at Berkeley, Cornell University, The London School of Economics and Political Science, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Renmin University of China andetc.
